Default New Vegans!

Hi everyone!

I'm seriously thinking about raising my child on a vegan diet after reading various books about the amazing benefits. But already I'm starting to think that I may struggle with the amount of time I need to prepare all of the food at home.

Before I go full steam ahead with this, are there any other challenges I might encounter by raising my child on a vegan diet?

Trust me, ALL info will be much appreciated!!! :)

Hi and welcome to Mumszone.

I would seriously consider having a good look at this website http://www.vegansociety.com/ They should be able to answer any questions you have. My sister-in-law and brother-in-law went vegetarian first, then turned vegan and find that the site I gave you invaluable for information.

Good luck with it.

Are you vegan yourself? I'm veggie so I am bringing my three children up on a veggie diet.

Snap. I don't think I could go to the effort of a different diet for my kids just on the basis of my decision that it is better for them. If they choose to become vegan and I decide to stay vegetarian then that is different. It will be so much easier to all eat a vegan diet.

I'm a vegetarian, but must admit neither my DH or DD are. Both do and will eat vegetarian food (for example if I make a bolognaise, I use veggie mince), but they tend to have meat. The only thing they don't have often is beef because I am severely allergic to it.
