Hi everyone,
just wondering if anyone uses LinkedIn or Xing? I've just signed up for both and haven't got to grips with it yet.
Does anyone have any advice on how to get the most out of them?

I'm on linked in - no idea what it is about - people add me and I say yes but apart from that never go near the place. I'd imagine it would be good for you though!!

I am on linkedin - but again I don't actually use it. I add people I know and that's about it.

Pretty sure I don't use any other things.

Like everyone I too am on it but never use it, however my DH is on it for our other business and gets a lot out of it. He is part of a networking group and they are all on there, all work for different businesses and put leads and business each others way. So there is good on there but I really think it depends on the business you run and who your friends on there actually are. If they are just that, friends or other forum members (as it is for me) then I guess you wont get anything much out of it.

I think also you need to join groups and get talking to other people relevant to your business, but for me there is a lack of pregnant mums on there wanting baby gifts! :cheesy:

DH runs an executive search business and uses it CONSTANTLY. He uses it to find people and does get a lot out of it. I think it's primarily useful for professionals who can benefit from networking their skills or contacts.

I don't think most of us would benefit from it in the same way as facebook/twitter etc.

joined linked in , many moons ago and never been back! never heard of the second one though, but then my head is buried so deep in work at the moment finding it hard to keep up with things

Isn't LinkedIn the same as Facebook? Is there any point in using both?
