Anyone going to Spring Fair?

Is anyone going to the Spring Fair/Jewellery Show at the NEC on Sunday February 6th?

We are going in the afternoon! We've managed to get the IL's to have Eithne for the afternoon (we'll be there for the weekend anyway) so that DH and I can go to the NEC after lunch for a few hours to see our current suppliers, but to also check out a few other things. :D

If anyone was going to be there in the afternoon on the 6th, wouldn't mind saying a quick hello.

I would say that you want to have a fairly good idea of where it is you want to be - which hall. If you have the little black book (or whatever they are calling it) have a look through that for your existing suppliers, if you want to see them, and make note of where they are. Again have a look through and make note of any suppliers you know of and want to see.

If you haven't done so already, look at the Spring Fair website and stuff - you can usually select what sort of stuff you're looking for and it'll tell you all of the suppliers for that sort of things.

Wear comfortable shoes and clothing and take a bottle of water. Also, take business cards so you can give them to potential suppliers. I know some people take a nice shoulder bag or even those small suitcases that have wheels for putting catalogues and stuff in.

Probably but not sure when. Most definately look at taking a small suitcase on wheels. It is surprising how heavy those brochures are when you have to carry them about all day.

Michael did volunteer to take a day off during the week, but I said no as we're trying to save his holiday days for something else. :D

I want to but it is a bit of a trek for us and will have the kids in tow - they behaved well at Harrogate Christmas and Gift though but this one is much much bigger so may not make it.

Going on the Monday, having to go alone this year as Dh cant make it, but I have to take Lewis as my mom is at a hospital appointment. Stilll he liked it last year so should be ok.

Like has been said take a little case on wheels or a pushchair to hang all the bags on! Oh and dont jump into buying things, have a coffee and think it over first, its easy to be talked into things while your there!

We can't go during the week as DH can't take the day off work. Thankfully the in-laws are able to babysit Eithne on Sunday as they couldn't during the Autumn Fair.

I'm going on Sunday afternoon... was going to get DH to take time off and come with me when the big two were at school but as he is still is recovering from his broken ankle he can't do that much walking so it's best to save his leave....

In September when all three will be at school I'll make him come to Autumn Fair!

I'm going to see my soft toy supplier and hoping to find some lovely flower girl teddies :) from another supplier
Then in the evening my soft toy supplier is celebrating 30 year business anniversary and is hosting a dinner & entertainment so I'm going to that too - can't wait, hardly ever go out, and hubby invited too so a super bonus.

That's what we did really. We knew we wanted to see our specific suppliers, but then we had a couple of other things we wanted to try to find.

We were back to Michael's parent's for about 12:30pm which they were not expecting.

For me it was very good - but then we don't need to go to the toy hall. We did go into Hall 5 to meet someone I've talked to for awhile, but it was a brief hello etc. The guy at the door though who was dressed as the Mad Hatter creeped me out. LOL

It was nice to see the present suppliers but to be honest the rest was very disappointing.....no inspiration for me :(

For the first time ever we found two new suppliers - one I had been wanting for a while and finally got what I wanted ;) the second was a new concept for us. Really pleased with the way today went.

We found the same old suppliers in Hall 5 - much the same as last year so not very inspiring at all...although I did find one new supplier :party05: and I know Chris and Toniann had some success in Hall 4 too, so all in all, not a bad day.

Bit of a mixed bag - a lot of the same suppliers but then every so often, a new company which is always good!
Also, for me, maybe an 'old' supplier willing to entice me back with a discount - we will see!

I visited my main supplier and found another supplier too - new product to come soon hopefully :) Can't wait to show you all.

It was my 1st time there and I kept seeing things thinking which one of my littleys would like that for birthday or christmas LOL it would be very easy to get majorly sidetracked there!

Celebrations evening was fab! Not sure today is going to be productive as a result though!
