I know the photos need doing and I am on the case:
http://www.lactivist.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=46&products_id=433

I got the wrong type of bag from the printer, they are organic, have long handles and the printing is as perfect as ever, they are just not the very sturdy gussetted bags I had before.

So I want to sell them off quickly!

I have reduced them to £3 each, or 4 different designs for £10 which is very very close to cost!

Should I call them a cost cutter range or, budget range or something?

Yes sounds like a good idea, just add them as your value range, works for lots of other big companies :happy72:

I'd be careful calling them your "cost cutter" range, I think the chain of stores might complain.

budget range or something then, you know what I mean :-)

Alternatively, as they're not bulky when folded up (in having no gussets) you could also add that they're small enough to fold up and slip into a handbag as your 'never be without a shopping bag' bag.

Miranda, that is a genius idea, I can measure what they are folded up, do you think it is off putting calling it a budget range?

I suspect that the sort of people that are specifically looking for an organic cotton shopping bag promoting breastfeeding are probably not those most searching for a budget range. That doesn't mean that they aren't shrewd and looking for a bargain, but I'm not sure that that is the best term to use.

Can they not be used a Emergancy bags sort of thing that lives in the bottom of shopping or handbags for those little extra buy's, or a swim bags trainer bags, knitting bags etc

FB I think you have hit the nail on the head there - my customers are happy to pay for quality and they are used to getting good quality at Lactivist too. There is nothing actually wrong with the bags, they are just not as sturdy as the ones with the gusset at the bottom.
I need an angle for them that does not suggest cheap and cheerful :-)

I would go for the organic angle. If you are in to promoting breast feeding and mothers milk, you will be concerned about the environment. Personally I would be careful not to discount them too much as it makes them look like there is something wrong with them. Have you considered doing a bit of an article on them for your local NCT magazine. A cheap advert goes an awful long way in those and it would really hit the right audience.

How about
Flat Organic Long Handled Bag

or

Space Saving Organic Long Handled Bag

I've gone for
Organic Long Handled Square Bag for the meanwhile and I'll fold one up and measure it tomorrow.

thank you everyone!

Me too, I think you're then competing with the fold up onya bag type BUT with the USP it's organic.

I'd describe it as something like this:

Having looked everywhere for a small neat fold up bag ideal to drop into your handbag that isn't made of polyester, Lactavist have sourced these Organic Long Handled bags especially for you. Designed with long handles so you can pop them over your shoulder leaving your hands free for other tasks, these organic cotton shoulder bags fold up neatly to just (size) and are ideal for keeping in your handbag or pocket.

Sounds posh eh?
