Help Setting up a Facebook Page

Okay I'm finally sitting down to sort this out and I'm having some trouble.

A friend has already liked my page (I think) even though it doesn't yet properly exist.

I go into my facebook account, click on Profile, then Info and from there I can see under my Employers section I have Delicate Dreams and Ihelm Enterprises listed. I click on Delicate Dreams and it takes me to a page that has Delicate Dreams Limited at the top and shows one friend liking it, it also has links for Create A Page, Report Page and Is this your Page?

I've clicked on Is this your page? and claimed the page, but when it goes to verify that I'm the owner, when I click on Next it takes me straight to the help section. Is it meant to do that?

What do I do next as I want to start creating an actual page I can post information to etc.

Ooh that's confusing - liking a page before it even exists!

I've been wrestling with Pages as well, and although I've not been doing what you're doing, I've had awful trouble setting up a new page. Facebook was hanging whilst it was saving details, having created the page it wasn't coming up in the searches, I couldn't see the page when logged into my account.....

Not much help, but I do think there's a problem with Facebook Pages at the moment!!!

Have you read through the help? I did find it quite useful, and I also googled and found some business websites with helpful advise.

I did try deleting what I'd done and start again, don't know if that helped at all!

Good luck with it though - sorry I can't be of more practical use!

I don't even know if I'm doing it the right way! I just know that in my info section is a link to a page for Delicate Dreams and one for Ihelm Enterprises - so I assumed that the pages had already sort of been created - I just needed to claim ownership of them - especially since a friend already likes the Delicate Dreams one.

Are your pages listed under your Info as place of employment and that? That's where mine are and I can't figure out how to get it all set up as there doesn't appear to be anything in the Help for creating a page in this way. :-(

I think I've done it now. The page that comes up when I click on Delicate Dreams in my info section seems to be a community page - so from there I clicked Create Page and have chosen the name for my page and am now trying to get it set up etc.

I hope I've done it right. LOL

I'm going to add more stuff to it over the weekend and then send out the Page Suggestions to people on facebook - so you'll get one at some point during the weekend. :D

I went into set up a business page as well - unfortunately when I set up ICE Gems I set it up as a local business (the choices then were rubbish and there was only a couple to choose from). I set up Religious Jewellery either as a brand or a website page (I can't remember which).

Once you have 25 fans you can select a name for your page by clicking on the link www.facebook.com/username (thanks to Merry who pointed me in the right direction. Then it gives you a drop down box to select the name for each page you have listed as yours.

If you want to see how mine are set up - www.facebook.com/icegems.medicalid and www.facebook.com/religiousjewellerycollection (and if you want to like them too whilst you are there lol ....)

Hope that helps a bit. Give me a yell if you want anything more specific.

I've set mine up as an Online Store - figured it was the best thing. I'm hoping it's all been created right - once I get some more stuff on there over the weekend I'll start asking for people to like it and as soon as we hit 25 people I'll do a new name for it. :D

I'm pretty sure I like both of your pages already - I know I like the Religious One - hmm actually I best check. LOL

As soon as I'm happy with it I'll post the url on here for people to like if they want. :D

I'm going to get a few more bits up on it this weekend and then I'll post the link - it's looking a tad emptyish atm. :D
