Anyone use Free Index listings?

Does anyone use Free website listing directories? There are thousands out there and before I put in the time I just wondered if anyone knew how effective they are in boosting your natural listing?

The most important one to do is Demoz as Google loves it. It takes 6 months to appear so don't do it more than once or you go to the back of the queue. Learnt that on an SEO course last week. Good luck!
