Join the National Childbirth Trust in its 50th Anniversary Party Celebrations

In celebrating its 50th Anniversary, the NCT will be hosting two massive NCTea Parties, bigger and better than anything they have done before. The first is at Chessington World of Adventures on the 7th May, and the second at Alton Towers on Father’s Day, 17th June. There will also be over 400 regional NCTea Parties throughout the UK.

Over the last 50 years, the NCT has touched the lives of all babies and families in successfully campaigning for improved maternity services, fathers’ presence at births, post-natal depression awareness, antenatal classes, and breastfeeding issues, amongst many other concerns. For that reason the NCT hopes to celebrate its birthday with as many families as possible and the parties are there for everyone and anyone, not just NCT members.

Chessington and Alton Towers are wonderful places to find fun and excitement for all the family, with something for everyone. Adults and older kids can go on all the amazing rides, and there are special ones for young children and toddlers. Very special guests, Peter Rabbit and Friends and the Fat Controller will be on hand to entertain the children, and there are a host of NCTea Party events, Learning Curve toys, puppet shows and activities to keep the little ones amused. Ticket prices are available at specially discounted prices, with details on the website www.ncteaparty.co.uk (http://www.ncteaparty.co.uk/)

The charity is instrumental in acknowledging how the family has altered over the last 50 years and the changing role of the father (his importance in pregnancy and birth, the increased involvement in their child’s development). On Father's Day at Alton Towers, the NCT will be going Football Crazy to recognise the invaluable role of Dads, who will get the chance to team up with their kids and compete in a special penalty shoot-out game.

The 320 NCT branches are the backbone of the NCT, providing much needed support and information to new parents all over the country. Branches and individuals are organising their own local NCTea Parties throughout the UK and this year there’ll be in excess of 400. There will be a whole host of activities for the kids with everything from face painting, cooking, bouncy castles, competitions, and toys from sponsors.

The Parties are not only a fun family day out, but will raise much needed funds and awareness to help future NCT campaigns, such as choice of birthing environment and the right to breastfeed in public places. Parenting is an ever-changing issue but the NCT will be there to provide much needed support and to help generations of parents in the future.
