Not sure - think they were going to bring out an on-line sales system.

Thing with Usbourne is you can take the kids with you if you sell at toddler groups etc.

If I am honest I am not sure cross stitch would do very well, but that is only my opinion. Usborne Books are really lovely and our local lady does quite well, she always takes her little girl with her. It may be the best thing for you to start with as you would get a taste for whether you enjoyed it, without the huge outlay and also having a big company behind you would really help. Good luck x

If you enjoy doing cross stitch, how about setting a business up that finishes peoples cross stitch off for them. I know it sounds daft but there are loads of people who start a cross stitch and either cannot do it or dont have the time to finish but would love it to be done so they can frame it. Dont know how you would go about advertising seting up a service like this, I guess the cross stitch magazines would be a good start.

I do Usborne books and either fit it around the childcare I've got or take T with me depending on the situation.

Feel free to email me / PM for more info if you want

Another one you could think about is pheonix cards which are lovely! you could look on the website, or there's a lady down the road who does it in my village so if you pm me I'll let you have her details.

I wouldn't give up on the cross stitch idea though - worth investigating I'd say!!!!

Have you tried going to local farmers markets/craft fairs and seeing in there is a gap in the market for cross stictch?

Best of luck, I am tempted by the Usborne books too:yes:

Have you heard of a company called Truly Madly Baby? It involves selling baby and toddler products on a party plan basis so you could take the kids with you.

Yes, don't give up on the cross stitch.

You have to find something that you enjoy doing and would do anyway when at home, because you are unlikely to make much money in the first year.

Why not have a look on ebay and see what kind of things sell - see if you could do something similar?

Have a good think about what you enjoy doing and how you can fit it into your life.

There are loads of things you could do if you put your mind to it - you just have to think about what you enjoy and how you could fill a gap or provide a different angle on something else in the market.

Hope this ramble helps
