hiya

Yeah I was wondering where everyone kept all their stuff too - I put on a poll about that a week or so ago. I keep all my stuff in a spare room on a big shelf unit. DD has decided he wants to do something similar so think we might have to get a new shed type thing at some point.

It's actually quite difficult to get sales, alot more so than I thought it would be before I started. I had visions of my site going life and being swamped...hmmm :hysterica

I decided to set up a business based around gifts for babies, and mums to be because that is a big part of what's been going on in my life recently - unfortunately alot of other people have the same idea so there are a huge number of baby gift sites out there (not as good as mine though....:cheesy: ).

Hope this helps. DD is setting up a gourmet food website so he's getting loads of free samples at the moment - YUM some fantastic chocs....

I store my things in the bedroom and behind the sofa, bit of a pain as the kids always want the bubbles and the sweets that I put in the bags. It is hard to get established, was doing well on ebay but no sales through site as yet.

Dh business is really making the money, the good thing with his business is that he sells software that he produces so nothing to store. I have been doing all the customer admin/queries, data transfer so not done much with my own site.

You will have to sell something your interested in/like doing, what other hobbies other than sherry drinking have you got.

I have to say I'm thinking of cutting right back on my stock. It's everywhere and I'm getting really fed up of it. We spent almost £500 on a new shed to keep stuff in and it's almost full of my stock. There are boxes everywhere and we have a rail in my bedroom with stuff on. I love my website but I'm sick of stuff all over the place. It's my own fault as I shouldn't buy so much stuff.
Please everyone buy stuff from meeeeeeee!!!
I even thought about packing up completely and doing something else, but I don't have any choice unless someone with a lot of money and a lorry comes and buys all my stock!

I know the feeling Sarah, me and dh was discussing all my stock and what we was to do with it. As his business is doing really well I do not have time for my own. Dh suggested to me that I sell everything in bulk on e-bay, if you do decide to give it all up, its a good way of getting rid of your stock as there are always people want bulk products to start there own business.

As for now I am sticking with mine and hopefully will get back on track with it if dh business slows down.

Stokey do you have any hobbies? (other than being on here)

I was thinking snowfairy - where the heck do you put that lot?!! Be careful about storing in the shed unless it is in sealed plastic containers. I had the mice in last year and had to dump a load of stock that was just in cardboard boxes! I WISH PEOPLE WOULD BUY MY STUFF TOO!! LOL!!

My website orders are non existent at the mo - ebid - sold nought really for ages - can't get on ebay as hubby has somehow blocked my access in a spiteful move. ARGHH!

My stuff is outdoors in the shed and indoors in my porch on a unit and in curver drawer towers.

I thought the Easter stuff would go - but no - oh well!

Do you need to get extra home insurance to cover your stock?

I think it is covered as part of our business insurance

My stuff is all over too but I try to keep it as organised as I can so it doesn't take over. I've got boxes stacked to the ceiling behind me, loads under my bed, more in a cove in the kids bedroom all stacked to the ceiling and some packed away in cupboards. It's important that I can find stuff quickly or I'd be lifting boxes up and down all day so I keep things organised and brands together as much as possible.

Not many people will talk about money Stokey but let's just say it takes a lot of work to actually make a profit especially if you are selling good because you tend to plough every penny back in to more stock for ages.

I now have a workshop attached to the house and even that is getting full

I do all my accounts myself, as I used to work in Accounts, I know what I am doing lol

I have got a floor to ceiling cupboard in one of the boys bedrooms that I have used. It has also spilled out into my bedroom cupboards.
