I can not believe my luck these last couple of weeks. Work has gone mad with orders coming out of my ears, well ok maybe just one ear but they have been a lot better than past years. Anyway I belong to a bead making forum and we have a for sale section and someone was selling an oxycon which is a piece of medical equipment used for people who are on oxygen. They're very expensive but you can get a recon one for around £250. Anyway I've managed to get one that someone was getting rid off but has only had since October, (rich husband so buying something much better) for £190. The today I had a phone call from a friend on the same beading site to say that someone was selling the very torch I've been covetting for the last year so I pm'd him to explain that I really wanted it but would he be able to hang on to it till after Christmas as I'm having money from rellies and could then pay him and he replied that he knew exactly where I was coming from and that he'd send it over now and that he'd send me a paypal invoice after Christmas for me to pay when I'd got the money into the bank.

How lovely is that. He only brought the torch in September but its too powerful for what he does. I can't tell you how excited I am. I've wanted a better set up almost since I started torching and now I have one. I will be able to work quicker, hotter and with harder glasses now, I will be able to do more with bottles (using wine bottles to make beads) and I will get some wonderful reactions to some of the glass that just end up looking dull and brown when melted on my hothead.

Think I will have to re-learn a little bit or get used to the hotter torch iykwim but I can't wait for it to arrive, I'm so excited gd12 I've saved up for this for so long but someone always needs a new pair of shoes or a school trip when I've got a bit of money saved.

Thank you for listening to my inane rambling ha ha.

Thanks everyone. I conected it all up yesterday and had the collywobbles as it wasn't right and burning too much propane but lots of people on the lovely bead making forum I used sorted me out with it and its all ok now. I made a gorgeous bead today and hopefully it will be all go once I've got used to the difference. Its a bit like going from a clapped out mini to a porshe.
