Hi all

Have received two emails today to my business email address which claim to be from Ebay. I think they are spoof emails - the first one took me to a link which had nothing to do with Ebay & now the second one has come through & the link in it takes me to a page asking me to login. The thing is I don't have an Ebay account with my business email address.

I have forwarded on the emails to Ebay & asked them to investigate - anyone else expereinced this?

If they are addressed to you by anything other than you ebay account name then they are fake. Ebay will never write to you in your email address name or dear user or dear seller. For instance my ebay name is kipskabin so I know if the email says Dear Kipskabin then it's genuine. If you are not sure then forward it to spoof@ebay.co.uk and they will write back and tell you. The same with paypal if it's addressed to your email address then it's fake and also neither paypal or ebay will ever ask you to click on a link that is in the email.

I've had these and sent them to ebay -got mail back to say they were fake. General rule of thumb, if there is a link on any email that takes you to a link where they ask you to sign in and give your password - tis a fake !!
