I was wanting to pick peoples brains about returns. What do you do with items that are returned do you return them to normal stock of they were returned if not wanted or suitable or didn 't fit ?

I've had a return back which no matter how hard I try I can't make it look nice & new. So in effect its a double loss for me, loss of postage and IMO can't be returned to stock. Any advice?

TIA

Thats a hard on isnt it? If they come back in the same condition i sell/sent out in then i would return to normal stock but if not i would "write off" the item or put it in the sale section stating unwanted return?, does your t&c's state must be returned in saleable condition?
Not selling clothing i dont know of any tips for making returns look new perphaps someone who does will give some better advice!

I'd sell it as a second? So work out the cost price so you aren't losing anything on it - or keep it for display if you do any stalls

Well my t's and c's state it must be in saleable condition so never really had the problem touch wood so far.

Failing that I would write it's cost off and save to have as a sample or sell it as a second stating non returnable.

We stick them in our Sale section - we do get a fair few 'not been washed' which have and tbh the cost of posting them back outweighs the goodwill of refunding less a small amount, and it works out OK as people love a bargain.
When I get round to it that is - got a pile to stick on the sale page tonight

Thanks, its just something that I can't get to look right and I know if I was to receive it I wouldn't be happy. I'll stick it in the pile to add as a sample/sale item

Thanks again

could yuo ebay it hunny? that happened with one of my dresses. it went out lovely and brand new, came back because it didnt fit..looked nothing like i had sent it out. i posted it on ebay stating that the garment was indeed brand new and was a return and ended up selling it for £5 cheaper. at least i made something out of it lol.
