Scrapbooking

Can anyone explain to me what this is?

I have been watching some craft programmes on Ideal World as part of my research for my business and they have been going on about scrapbooking. When I was a child you used to go to the newsagents and buy a scrapbook that had coloured paper like blotting paper and you stuck things in it.

Is this just a fancier version?

Thanks, I will do that. I wish that I could get more "crafty" but I am probably the most "uncrafty" person living.
