i think ive found a name i like id like some feedback on it though my mum says its good and Dave really likes it too.

the first word is infinity second word is invites ive done it like this incase someone searches etc before i buy it tomorrow as i cant get out to buy a MRsite untill then and all the ebayers are away who do them instantly.

what sort of slogan or what ever they call them under the title? i shall only be doing wedding invites to start with but may get into other occassion invites.

the only other names i came up with were magenta dream and magenta promise

let me know what you think

It doesn't really trip of the tongue does it. What about Willow Weddings, thats available you could have a willow tree as a logo.

Willow Weddings is nice, but does restrict you to Weddings. I do like your suggestion too, but know that if I had to say that every time I answered the phone I'd be tripping over my tongue trying to get the words out. I feel like that about Friendly Baby and wish I'd called it Happy Baby instead, which was my original idea.

I thought it odd and was surprised you weren't babyfriendly!

I really couldn't say, or type infinity invites easily. How about ace invites?

I quite like Infinity but not Invites - prefer Invitations (my husband calls me the grammar police!)
It does kind of restrict you just to invitations though. How about Designs?

Infinity Bliss (as in wedded bliss)
Infinity Bliss Designs
Infinity Bliss Invitations (not invites!)

ive been searching for a blooming company name for 3 days now and i just cant settle on anything. ive had some ideas which ive loved but theyre already gone.
ive brought a few wedding magazines and noticed theres people in there who obviously wanted the names regardless and have called themselves what they wanted and then just worked the web address around it . for example daisy chain accessories have used daisy chain online obviously because the name they wanted was gone.

is this ok to do or would it be really bad? im so fed up of finding great names and then finding theyre gone its driving me nuts!

i seriously need to get a web address and start setting something up today so its d day for the name.

how did you all choose your names? did it take long? my poor mums been waking up all night thinking of things and texting me so she doesnt forget :cheesy:

sorry to go on , youll all be sick of me by the end of the week.

We had a bit of trouble finding a name - originally we wanted buzzboy but that was gone. Spacekids was one of a few we had thought up since then. The only down side to spacekids is that there is a US site called spacekids.com and I would have liked us to have both names!!

I hope you get it sorted - maybe think about what you want your logo to look like as that might give you a clue as to how long a name you can have?

I think you need to look at what type of stationery you are going to be offering. Are you going for floaty romantic, cartoony, classic, modern, are they printed or handmade, are they made with enviromentally friendly papers etc. or will it be a mix of all of those. Are you aiming at the upper end of the market or the cheaper end. All these factors could influence the name too.

Unfortunately there are litterally thousands of online businesses flogging wedding invitations of all kinds so you really need a name that sticks out and will be remembered.

Its better to find something unique so that its easier for the search engines to find, you dont want it to be lost in the crowd.

I would use some keywords as your business name if you can - I know it sounds dull but it will be worth it in terms of seo.

the invites are a mixture of funky , modern and classy. i want to sound fun and classy but not cheap
i dont like the 4u type names i think they sound like a txt message and with my product being a printed one i need to sound like im professional

Hi,

I've been racking my brains for you since I read your first post the other day. It's frustrating as every idea, like you, that I've had has already been taken.

The only idea I had that isn't taken (but not sure whether it makes sense or not) is
"design of our time" (a play on the phrase 'sign of the times!'). I just can't decide whether it makes sense or not so thought I would post it and see!!!

or, and haven't checked these, if you still like the word invitations - indigo invitations,
design delights.....ermmm... gosh this is hard. Will keep thinking throughout the day as I don't like to be beaten!!!

Also, there is a law against 'passing off' i.e. trying to identify your business with another similar business and take their customers, so you need to make sure that there isn't another business in the same area as yours e.g. if you wanted to be called bloggs cards, and there was another business with that name, buying the web address bloggs cards online could make it look like you were trying to pass your business off as theirs.

how about Always Yours- near the beginning of the alphabet, hints at what you sell but gives room to diversify, i don't think the web is taken.
You could buy something like alwaysyoursweddingstationery and redirect it.
I'm not sure about words like occassion and stationery in domain names because of misspelling (just had to ask dh about stationery :cheesy:)

But there again, what do I know- my business is called Chiggs :hysterica

My business is called "The Pookey Boutique" because we always called our son it when he was in my tummy..sad but true LOL. How about:

Ok, going to sound silly BUT you have all heard of red letter day? well wedding invites are white letter days? i have done a search on white letter day AND all domains are available LOL. Whiteletterday.com sounds cool! lol

sorry...

friendlybaby
12-02-2009, 03:15 PM
I love that one! White Letter is a type of butterfly (I think!) too so you could have one as your logo. If you don't register that name, then Lisa I think you better had before someone else thinks of it!

friendlybaby
12-02-2009, 03:32 PM
wedletterdays:hysterica Now, that is GREAT! Not sure it is classy though, but it is great, and it is definitely memorable. I'd buy it and use if it was me, but maybe that just shows how un-classy I am! :cheesy:

i love it..it shrieks advertising GOLD! there is soo much you could do with it and of course its marketing quality is brill because of the slogans and branding alone make its stand out against other companies... lol. it is also a perfect brand and easy to remember for the internet aged wedding organiser PLUS i thought of it so its FAB!

Lovely name (except for the fact that's it's W so would get you all the way at the bottom of an alphabetical list)

If you're not going with that one,
Step back.
Breathe
Read the dictionary and write down all the words you like
Step back again
and have a glass of wine.

Then think about it again :kisshands:
