Resistance is futile:laugh:
Yesterday I recieved my latest sling...
One of Brightsparkslings gorgeous stretch Kimmers - having been put off the idea of side slings when I had a huggababy for Ferdy and not getting on too well with it I admit I was a bit wary of trying another...but after making a lot of use of it yesterday my worries are totally unfounded!
The fabric is fab (ok I would say that seeing I love hemp) and both Felix and Ferdy found it very snug and comfy:babyflips .
I was working out last night just how many slings I have had...
2 Mothercare carriers for Freya, both of which were awful (before I knew you could get lovely slings lol)
1 Framed backpack - this was better than it might have been and had a lot of use when Freya was wee, I sold it after having Ferdy as I had undiagnosed SPD which was hell.
1 Huggababy - I think a result of the SPD I didnt get on too well with this, but not knowing what the SPD was at the time I guess didnt help!
1 Original Ergo - bought one, then hired a second when we went on holiday which was wonderful
2 home-made versions of the Ergo, which meant I could then sell on the original Ergo as we were skint!
1 Kari-Me that I had for 12 weeks when Felix was tiny (he isnt huge yet lol) then sold as although I loved it I wanted another Ergo so that I could carry any of the F's if they needed it.
1 NG Ergo - which I still have and use regularly
and now one lovely BSS Kimmer which is just lovely!
Does that qualify me as a slingaholic?

I have used the Ergo with Freya she is nearly 5 - it says it will carry a child up to 60lbs in weight.
Ferdy is nearly 3 and he wasnt oversized in the Kimmer yesterday but without checking I dont know what the max recommendation is.
I think you can use a wrap with a toddler too - not done so yet, but I have a feeling that I would have a willing F who would try! lol

I'm interested in your opinions of the NG ergo, I'm not sure what sling to go for next, I have a corrie, Hugabub and Ergo, was thinking of getting a cwtshi and a NG Ergo, but the pennies are tight so I'll have to choose, plus Dh says we have enough already.

My 2 and half yr old loves the ergo, I havent managed to carry both yet, not sure if I am brave enough for that. Need to get Dh to use the Ergo. Just waiting for dd to get older as she is only 4 months old

hmmmm NG Ergo hmmmmm
I like it as I can carry all my F's using it (not at same time obviously rofl),
The poppers on the head support are loads better than the velcro on the original. The shaped seat is also nicer imho. I am not certain that it is as comfy as it could be - the clips now on the bottom of the padded shoulder straps that allow you to cross them or do a shoulder carry do tend to dig in under my arms. I also find it hard to wear over too many layers of clothing - fine for Felix as he is only small (5mths) so I put him on my tummy, and have coat ovver the top, however with the other 2 they go on my back and it can get less comfy being over the coat.
I like it but do have some reservations - if I ever get time to make another myself I most probably will, wishing now I had kept the first 2 I made lol!
Not sure if that helps much? And not sure whether I would recommend you get a NG Ergo or not if I am entirely honest! But, that said I have read somewhere it isnt so great for broad shoulders which I do have!

I think your list confirms you as a committed babywearer, but quite low on the scale of slingaholicism ;) You definitely need a German woven, an unpadded ring-sling and an MT other than the ergo to go with your pouch, and you need to know about the UK yahoogroup for trading slings, am I allowed to post a link or do I need to send a PM??

I have two short storches, a couple of longer ones, a classic ergo that just doesn't get used, my gogobabytote, a calin bleu linen and my chittery and dooker for swimming. Can only use the short storches atm, and then only for rocking dd4 to sleep, because I've broken my foot!

LOL, thankfully my DH doesn't know I have so many (or how much they cost!). It's definitely the most addictive aspect of parenting!
