Age differences

Just wondered about the age gaps in your relationships?

Well as many of you may of gathered dp and i have a whopping age gap.

I am soon to be 24...he is 43.

We've been together 6 years and life has generally been blissfull! Couldn't imagine our lives without each other. When we first met (at work) i thought he was younger.... he thought i was older....Could not imagine being with anyone my own age though. :happy72:

My dad always says i am far too mature for 'people' my own age..... and always thought i'd end up with an 'older man'...

I'm 35 and dh is 39 now, his b'day is the day after mine, lol, so if he doesnt buy anything for me he doesent get anything back the next day, was a prob when I was 15 and he was 19 my parents wasnt too approving but we have been together since then so they dont moan now

i'm 24 and dh is 33, i always joke and say he's an old man, but i love him dearly, but sometimes he does show his age, which can be hard, like when i want to go knocking about with my mate and he thinks its childish, but other than that we are ok

Well I am 35 and DH is 43. Its not a problem now but it was when I was 16...........managed to keep it a secret from my parents for a whole year, until my maths teacher blew it on parents night as he used to teach him and had seen us together. Not the best of parents eveings :laugh:
Still we are still together and very happy all these years later so :bottomrev

There's 18 months between me and dh he's only a little bit older. My ex was 14 years older than me and he was very controlling.

me 31 he 37, been together since I was 15 my first true love, and yes lied about age to parents, they wondered how some1 who I said was 18 could drive around in a bmw when he actuall 21 !!!

Just under 6 years between us, it's nothing now really but when we first met and I was 15 and he was 21 it was a big thing to my parents! I would be the same if my daughter met someone that much older than her now.
Well they said it wouldn't last - we've been together 24 years in June and married for 14 :hysterica

Aww that's so sweet :) my friends parents are like you, they met in school and have been together ever since for about 30 years first loves and all that it's so nice :)

Yes we've done really well Jess thank you. It's been hard work and we've been through a lot together. They say that 70% of couples split up within 5 years of losing a child and I can understand why, it was very hard in the early days. Well so far so good for us, it will be 4 years in June since Christopher died but I kind of think we won't be one of those stats :)
