Complaints on obscene emails

Is there a body I contact about receiving rude messages? I have received 2 guestbook messages on my website and when I clicked to view their home site.........no surprises that it took me to an extremely rude site.

I have contacted the people who host the guestbook to have the messages removed (they are incrypted, so it looks as if they are just spamming) but I just wondered if I could contact anyone to report the email address, and if I could possibly find out where it originated from?

I think I am on hide hair to nothing though aren't I? It makes me so angry, have these people nothing better to do with their time!

can you contact the place that hosts the email and complain to them , I assume they would suspend the account and possibly trace the IP address thats if you have a email address for them

The email address is mur@mail.ru <mur@mail.ru> does that mean that hosts are mail.ru? I tried emailing that addresss but I just the message sent back saying that message will exceed maximum mailbox size for them.

Unfortunately there isnt a lot you can do. This is quite common on contact forms/guest books and the best thing to do is just delete them off. Are you able to set your guestbook up so that you have to see all entries before you approve them and do you have the facility to ban certain IPS?

I don't approve entries before they go on, in fact I am not sure if the one I use has this facility but I am going to check into it.

I have deleted though but I sort of guessed that this sort of thing would happen.......just so annoying!

They seem to be hounding me! I got 2 more this morning, I have reported it again and I do have their ISP number so hopefully something can be done about it! 20061008
