I've had my little Creda Tumble Dryer for the last thirteen years, but now the thermostat has gone and I need to go and find a new one. It's a vented one, but I have read how good the condenser ones are - but are they?
So sell me your tumble dryer and tell me what you think the pros and cons are of your machine. Also which do you think is the best machine out at the moment and which ones should I stay away from completely.
Thank you.

I have a condensing one, which is fab cos I don't have to open a window in this freezing weather, for the moisture etc to go out through.
Other than that...its a tumble drier :cheesy:

I have a condensing one too, I think mine is fab but then no better than a vented one tbh. The biggest bonus being that there is no hose and you can use the water for your plants when it's cooled if you want to be extra super duper green!! And of course there are no restrictions on where you put it which is another plus!

I have a condensing one. Personally I would say don't go for a cheap one. I went for a cheaper this time after having Hotpoint or Zanussi before and it is soooo noisy (think I have a creda now).
I think condensors take slightly longer to dry the clothes than vented but personally I like not having the tube so would always go with a condensor now. You do have to make sure that you empty the water regularly though and clean the condensor unit (although its not difficult!)

I was just typing away and then it disappeared so apologies if half of this post ends up being repeated!
I have a condenser one, and was dubious at first, but went for it anyway as it would have been awkward to sort out plumbing for the waste water. It is very easy to empty the water out on ours as it is a relatively small container right at the top of the machine (we have a Bosch one), but my Mum's one has the container at floor level and it is a huge container so weighs an absolute tonne as well and she ends up hurting her back trying to empty it.
If you've already got plumbing in place and you can't see it you might as well go for another vented one.

I have a condensor one and when it worked I loved it. However the belt went within a year and had to be replaced and now it doesn't heat up, haven't even had it 3 years. I think its a creda and I'll never buy from them again.
