Heard on the news that there is going to be a postal strike at sorting offices next Friday. The North West is supposed to be quite badly affected with 5 sorting offices being involved. Wonderful.

OH FFS!! It is about time the government took away the RMs monopoly on postal service and opened up the market to all and sundry on a level playing field.
Like online traders aren't facing enough problems with high street shops slashing their prices by 50% now it looks as if we can't post out either.
Not a happy bunny, it isn't even as if we get a fabulous reliable service anyway, I have barely had any post at home for two weeks and have taken to giving out our office address instead as we get post there!!

Yes cos it's just what the economy needs at the moment closedmouth1111
I don't what they're striking for but surely, they should just be content to have a job in the current climate.

are they upset at being told they have to walk 4mph from now on? to be honest if they want public backing this really wont help.

Are you all altering your last day of postage due to this?

Not at the moment, I'm ever hopeful that common sense will prevail and they will cancel the strike. Will review as the date gets closer. We may well have to ring up customers and ask them if they want to go for GND or courier.

The swindon office voted against the strike. Though dad did say last time that he knew that most voted against but the big bosses over ruled it so remember it's not nessersarly the postie on the street that voted for the strike.still sucks for the areas affected however

How frustrating. I think we'll just take a hit on some postage costs and only use the courier after tomorrow. Otherwise if there's a back log we'll end up with loads of orders going missing or delayed.
