What date have you out on your site as the last posting date? I've still not added this.

The only change I have made is to the guaranteed next day. Royal Mail says 23rd Dec but I have said 22nd as there is bound to be some bright spark that orders at 10.00 p.m. on 23rd and expects it to go through!!

I haven't added anything to the site yet but I should really do so.

I need to add something, I have lots of different times for different sellers so I have to add it to the products or front page listing them.

I suppose I could do a page with the all on and a link to it....

I've said that we will be posting up to Christmas Eve, but the 14th December is the last day for certain delivery before Christmas. Most of our orders are bulky and so have to be sent by the Royal Mail standard parcel service, and the last date for that is 15th December.

I've also said that if an urgent order is needed we may be able to help, and asked people to email, so we can then give them a quote depending on what they order.

I used to use Standard Parcels for the very heavy, or highly valuable orders (as you can't pay for extra insurance on first class and if it is over 2 kilos special delivery is incredibly expensive) a long time ago but discovered just quite how appalling it is around this time of year, and was never very happy with it anyway. Maybe you should consider using a courier as their rates are really not too bad once you are sending a few a week - certainly no worse than standard parcels anyway, and they will come to you at a specific time to collect. If you want I could email you the last chart of costs that Parcel Force sent to me showing their different prices dependent upon how many parcels you send through them. When I looked into it Parcel Force weren't the cheapest but they did have the highest standard insurance value of £150 per parcel, whereas the others had standard insurance of £10 per kilo.

Thanks for this - I think the problem I would have with couriers is that I am not in much in the day, so it would be difficult to arrange for them to collect. I couldn't really arrange for them to collect from my "real" job as I don't want to inconveniece my staff here. I don't know of anywhere locally where we could drop our parcels with couriers.

I have an agreement with our local Parcel Force driver that she knows where to look if I'm not in, and I choose the time slot each day to suit me for that particular day anyway. It is a 2-hour time slot.

I've not put anything. I'll just post right up until the last minute. Most people will order in plenty of time if they want it for Christmas.
