I'm switching to cloth nappies with my youngest LO after Christmas and wondered if anyone had tried the bumgenius nappies as these are the ones I'm most interested in? Its a lot of money to dish out in one shot so I want to make sure I get the best!
Thanks in advance :)

Hi,
Bumgenius do have a good reputation, but I wouldn't recommend you go out and buy all of one type of nappy before you've actually tried them. Get one each of a few different types of nappy and then if you decide that BG are definitely for you and seem to work in every situation then buy more then. Many people prefer different nappies during the day, compared to at night, for example - you probably need a more absorbent nappy at night, and a nice slim-fit one for during the day. You might also find a nappy that dries more quickly is handy to have a couple of for when you've left the washing until a bit late.
I haven't actually tried BG myself so I can't give you any specific feedback on them, but I'm sure there are plenty here that have used them.

Theres a lot more to think about than I originally planned! Thank you for the advice I will definitely consider it. I was going to buy just one or two to start with anyway to try them out so I will try some different types...now just need to find out which are the more absorbent and which are the slim ones lol!

The reason you don't necessarily want to go for ultra-absorbent all day long is that the most absorbent nappies often take the longest to dry. The slim-fit ones are often not the most absorbent. This isn't always the case, but often is. Lots of us nappy sellers on here have advice pages and offer free advice, and the cloth nappy users here are full of advice too, so ask as many questions as you want.

Ah I see that makes sense - I love practical advice! You don't really think about these things until you actually seriously consider going cloth!
Well I'm off to bed now but I'm sure I'll be back tomorrow with more q's! thanks for your help!
