had a weird letter in the post

Just received an invoice from France in the name of Samuel Eastick for 21.81 euros for some kind of hospital treatment!!

Is this a scam or a sign someone is using our address for dodgy purposes??

Can't understand a lot as it is all in French

I would look into that, is there a phone number?
maybe a genuine mistsake but you can never be too careful.

Going back a few years ago we received a call from Barclay card asking us about our account (we don’t have on with Barclays) it turned out that someone had taken out several cards in our name (including American express) and ran the totals up to way over £10,000.
Ok we were never liable for them but it’s real scary what people can do. We never even found out how they got our details.

just noticed that the date of treatment was august last year...

There are lots of free on-line translation services, you could try typing it into one of them so you get a full understanding of the letter.

I'm always careful about ringing numbers, check what the number begins with that it is not a scam where you get put on hold for ages and it costs you £1.50 a minute. Cannot remember what kind of numbers they start with.

If I get these, I just put them back in the envelope and return to sender with not know at this adress, you normally never hear anything again.

Good idea, thanks for that, it's very weird and I'm not ahppy about it at all who is Samuel Eastick, he wasn't even a prior occupant of this house, Dh has been here over 10 years.
