Is anyone interested in these?

I've never (until tonight) tried anything like this. Went to a local class this evening. It is a beginners group so was quite a gentle introduction but think I stretched a few muscles I didn't know/had forgotten I had. :)

Yes! I was thinking of finding out about this for myself supposed to be very good for helping you to relax/easing stress so I heard? Was it expensive?

£3.50 for the hour class (my mum paid for me as she wanted me to go with her!)

Was nice and relaxing - concentrating on breathing etc. Not sure how much the teacher has to pay for hiring the hall, but there were around 2o people there - so not bad for an hours work ....

Before the kids I use to go every week to a yoga class, found it very relaxing and would often fall asleep at the end of the class as we laid on the mats and chilled. Always had the best nites sleep after a yoga class.

When I cant get to sleep now I do one of the techniques to help me sleep and it nearly always works.

Would love to do it again, but its hard to find the time and money to do.

Havent tried a class but have ayoga video that I occassionally use!! I find the best thing is that when Im stressed & tense just doing the warm up streches helps to relax me. Have a pilates dvd that i want to try just havent found the time (on here too much!). Would love to go to a class but have no one to go with!!

Love yoga but haven't done it since before getting pregnant, have a DVD waiting for me to unwrap it, but a bit wary of over-stretching.
Have been doing pilates regularly though - great for sorting out your back in quite a gentle way.

Agree that yoga techniques help you get to sleep - all that deep breathing is practically meditation!

Oh memories !! I used to go to a yoga class twice a week before I had my second ds. Absolutely fantastic. It is very relaxing but it is a brilliant workout for the body once you get going a bit. I toned up so much and felt really energetic. I wish I could go back, should really do some at home in the evening instead of sitting on my bottom in front of the pc or the tv !!

I'm really enjoying the classes now - still wonder how the more advanced members manage to do some of the things, and can get lost in some of the sequences, but it is making more sense. I have a couple of books, but just don't seem to be able to find time/space/peace to try them at home.

I am a yoga teacher and one of the first things I did when I moved here (Algarve) was to set up some yoga classes. It was great. I don't do it any more since I set up the slimming clubs though and I really miss it.

I'm not entirely sure how much use that would be

But if you want directions to websites that are really good for yoga, just let me know :happy72:
