View Full Version : Oh now that's surprised me - Why has my post been deleted?

I can only apologise as my post was 100% genuine!
Can I ask why my post was deleted please?
I'm not a spam poster I've been around for along time now, OK not so long here but I've been a WAHM for a few years now.
Its quite upsetting to come here asking a genuine question only to find my post deleted with no explanation!
I understand the 30 posts before I can post a link to my website on forum but I only mentioned how my website could be found on Google (previously seen this done by another poster) - Is this not allowed either? So does this mean as a relatively new poster to MZ there's a whole load of questions I'm not really allowed to ask?

I removed your post because we do have a rule that you cannot publicise your post when you have under 30 posts other than in the initial hello post, which you have made already (it does also say posts breaking site rules may be removed without notice).
This was a rule agreed some time ago with the majority of other WAH businesses on here who felt it was unfair when people came on sporadically to post their website details when they were not regular members on the forum (by regular we mean participating not just visiting).
I felt that the post you made publicised your site and therefore was against site rules. If you have seen another user refer members to google, who isn't a regular member then that's someone I have missed.
If you had a problem with your original account I could have helped you to sort that out. Sorry but I have to be fair and stick to the same rules for all.
If you are still uncertain of the rules or you want to speak to me further about this could you PM me please as I dont always get time to go through all posts.
Thanks
Justt

Nic might be easier to just post 5 more times and then you dont have to worry about the 30 post rule. Its not that dificult. We are all pretty friendly and yoll be chatting away in no time.

Thanks for taking the time to explain Ravenfire. I do understand what you're saying but I would like to say that I wasn't publicising my site at all and I'm sorry if you think it looked that way. All I was wanting to know was if it was working ok for people after I'd recently updated it - no probs though, I think its working fine :party05: as I have managed to get the help I needed elsewhere.
I didn't have any problems at all with my previous account, thanks. I hadn't used it for a long time so I decided to ditch that one as it was using an old username so I wanted to re-register with my usual name as I thought it'd be less confusing :happy72:
Okay think we're sorted now, I do apologise for unwillingly breaking the rules.

Hi
Thanks, bit stupid on my part really I thought about it afterwards but it was a bit late by then. I'm a bit scatty today after the excitement of getting my website updated and trying to get everything together for orders I just posted without thinking really.
I really would like to be an active member of this forum but I find it a bit tricky at times TBH but I'm sure I'll get there especially now I've got more time to spend on my business.
Thanks for your reply :happy72: I was feeling a bit rubbish after my post got deleted.

oh, and Nic, you can put your website address in your profile so we can get to your site by clicking on your name (if that makes sense!)

5. Banners, signatures and site links
You are not permitted to add your banner to your signature or profile unless you are a WAH Business (and therefore follow the rules contained within that section), unless you get express permission from Admin first. Anyone found to be breaking this rule will have their signature removed without notice. You are not permitted to add a link into your signature unless you are a WAHP and you follow the rules within that section. Please do not add links in your signature/profile to sites containing the same content to this site (unless permission given by Admin to do so).

I'd say you are, Nic.
Also, you're not allowed to add a banner link unless you're a site sponsor....
Don't worry about unwittingly breaking the rules, most of us have done it at some point or other.........:hysterica

Can I just say that spamming posts completely makes a mockery of the rules we have on this site, which yet again I would reiterate were created following feedback from the regular WAH Businesses on the site. Now it makes me sound like a crabby mare which I really am not but the rules are there for a reason and come the day someone comes on selling a product for example similar to the ones you have and promotes without regard for rules (this applies to everyone) you will understand why.

I hope you weren't referring to my post when you talk about "spamming posts" and "completely making a mockery of the rules" etc. as I would find it really quite offensive.
As I have already explained, I simply wanted some feedback on whether the updates to my site were a success. I realise that I unwittingly broke the rules and I fully understand why you felt it necessary to delete the offending post, but the insults, if aimed at me, are completely out of order.

Hi Dawn
Oh yes I completely understand that I'm not allowed to add a banner link as I'm not a site sponsor I wasn't actually after one, although a few weeks ago I did ask about adding my web link to the end of my posts, I need 30 posts for that don't I? Its still not there though?! So I'm a bit confused about that.
Oh dear I don't seem to be getting on very well over here. I only wanted to ask a simple this morning I didn't think anything of it at the time.

Hi Nic
I think there must be something in the water today, it has been one of those days, not just here but on several forums!! What is it they say on gbh about a full moon?
You can add a link to your signature by amending your signature in the control panel (top left corner there is a link to the cp).
Hth.

I'm closing this thread. I don't feel I was offensive or rude and if anyone feels otherwise perhaps they would kindly PM me and we can discuss it that way instead.
