I have just sat and watched, through my tears, the Festival of Remembrance from London.

Tomorrow, I will go on the civic parade with the Mayor to lay a wreath at the Cenotaph in Dudley.

Hard to believe that its 90 years this week since the end of World War 1. DH's great grandfather was killed on the Somme 92 years ago and we had the privilege 3 years ago to go to France and find his War Grave.

We shall remember them............

We are marching tomorrow. DS has been selling poppies in the rain all day today and went to the Remembrance concert tonight. He is marching with the cadets tomorrow as he says there are more Scouts than Cadets. I hope my Scouts turn up!

............... just looked at the clock - I mean "today" not "tomorrow"

I visited my great grandfathers grave and went to the Thieval memorial on the somme where my grandfathers name is as he has no know grave, such a moving experience, such a terrible slaughter. I want to return to find my nans younger brothers grave, when my grandfather was killed he wrote and told my nan that he would come back and look after her and the three babies but he was killed a few months before War ended.

I hope to one day go to Singapore and visit Buket Timah, and on the hill here is a plaque where a battle took place that my dad fought in before being taken prisoner, i would also like to visit the burma railway and hellfire pass where my dad was based as a POW.

The rememberance service always has me in tears.
Always in my thoughts Dad :cloud9:

We will remember them :kisshands:
