Ok I need some tips on what you think i should do fro my Christmas window display inside the shop.
Bear in mind its a dancewear shop, My main customers are aged 9 and under!!! I also cater ofr a lot of older customers for latin and ballroom shoes and lots of teens and young adults for their tutus and legwarmers.
I have the lucy locket ballet house , sparkly tiaras and other gifts in the glass display cabinets.
I have tutus and animal costumes out on display and the rad ballgown, shoes and bag has been made a feature.
What I want to now is do I go for modern decorations or traditional?
I don't want anything too tacky but want it to feel nice when they come in.
I even have my xmas cd ready:cheesy:

I would go traditional, I always think it looks nicer. Can you pick a theme colour from your stock? Personally, if you have the space, I'd do a 'wrapping the Christmas pressies' Christmas scene - pop a decorated Christmas tree in the window with a few parcels under, decorated in 2 plain colours eg red and gold or green and gold, and have a lot unwrapped with the recipients gift tag easily readable eg latin shoes/ballroom shoes labelled for Grandma or Auntie, tutus for eg Sophie & Chloe, legwarmers for Sarah and Claire, and a couple of rolls of wrapping paper scissors, curly ribbbon etc as 'props' , therby making people think 'oooh that would make a good pressie for xxx'

do you do window displays Miranda??? I may just hang fire then:cheesy:
I have one major hiccup but need to sort it anyway, my window starts at waist level which is a pain so I need a platform.base of some kind as I can't suspend a xmas tree from the ceiling:hysterica
So I need to get hubby on to it.Have some spare wood out the back, and have some fabric i could drape over it too.

In that case, could you put a taller Christmas tree in, and put the presents on a table/tables? Do you have a picture of the window, I've forgotten...

Yes I could put one of those tall skinny trees in, But my brother is going to make a base type thingy, I am going to cove rit in fabric and use it as a traised platform.the display needs to be at eyelevel.
I have to balance between the dancewear and fancy dress so I have a fab tutu that is going int he window, along with one of the red ballgowns.I am then going to add the red ballgown bag, red sparkly shoes and shrug, the tutu will have tiara, ballet shoes and dance bags around it.I have gift boxes so I shall put some ladies latin shoes in, also some disco trainers and the dance warm up gear. And lots and lots and lots of fairy lights!! Once it is done I shall post some piccies for you all to see!
That is my project for next weekend. I also have a project ongoing for site and my brother is working on something for blush dance for me, and my first designs are finished , time to have my first design meeting with my seamstress to look at fabrics etc to.gether.Hoping for a springtime launch fingers crossed
