If anyone is running or considering running a competition it might be worth finding out how to put an entry form on your site.

If you ask people to enter by email people with end up entering without ever visiting your site. I used to run them this way until I noticed loads of enteries coming in but the visitors weren't showing in my site stats. It turned out that my email address and the answer was on UKwins and MSE.

I now have a form so that people have to visit the site. DH just got a free script to add the form to the site. It is upsetting to give away a [rize in order to promote your site then find out that nobody is visiting the site to enter.

I actually get more entrants now that they have to visit the site. Not sure why entering via email was putting some people off.

He has just said it was probably from Hotscripts.

If your webspace is setup for php then you can use any php form script and adapt it to allow for the fields you need for your competition :)

I am really cheating and asking Arianna to do mine for me - feeling very lazy atm.
