Hi

Does anyone use mobile payment terminals when they go out to do shows? I need one for a week Sunday. I stupidly thought I had the correct merchant account with Streamline, I have two merchant accounts, one for telephone payments, one for ecommerce and i apparently need a third for a mobile terminal.

The thing is streamline say they can't guarantee they can set up the third account in time. Great customer service!

So, does anyone have any other ideas on what i could do? I've probably left it too late but wasn't thinking of getting one until the end of November and now an opportunity for a show has arrisen for October 19th.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Could you just take their details and then put it through as a telephone payment later. You may get ripped off I suppose, but unlikely if you've seen the card.

Alternatively will you have access to the internet while you are there? You could always log in and use PayPal Pro (Virtual terminal) as Chell has suggested.

HI, I do have a netbook I could take and do have mobile internet access. I also have a virtual terminal to process payments over the phone with protx so could process online whilst there. As I've never done this before I'm wondering how well it'll work. Has anyone ever tried this option or been at a show when people have done it this way.

I really don't want to commit to a 36 month contract at £27 a month to have a chip and pin machine. It's a big commitment if I don't get enough sales whilst there. On the other side I think people are a lot more likely to buy Christmas pressies on a credit card and less likely to have loads of cash on them.

What do you think?
