Hello
I use polymailers mainly but as so many seem to get ripped open with DHL I want to start sending larger orders packed in boxes.
The ones from Morplan see quite expensive any ideas?

Have you looked at Viking they are quite reasonable.

Do they have to be new? Our local wine store & the local bookstores both flatten their boxes and offer for free to other local businesses, they are very sturdy.

All of the boxes that we receive our stock in get used again to send out orders to customers and whenever I'm in a shop that has lots of empty boxes I can't help but ask for them. DH thinks I have a weird cardboard box fettish. He came back from the supermarket looking very pleased with himself a few weeks ago as he'd managed to get me a very handy-sized cardboard box - he couldn't understand why I wasn't happy to use one with 'Pampers' written all over it."Doh"

I usually use new packaging, but suggest it is reused.
The sort of thing I want to use is:

ah right, I assumed much bigger boxes.
Why are your polymailer torn? I'm curious as to what you sell? There are various qualities of mailers, some are really thin and tear easily, other are virtually un-tornable, is that a word? :cheesy:

Even double bagging would (usually, dependent on quantity) be cheaper than boxes - and lighter to post.

What are you sending? I am not aware of any of my mailers having arrived torn and I regularly use them for anything up to 2 kilos, and occasionally just over 2 kilos if I haven't any appropriate boxes. Maybe it is the brand of mailer that is at fault? I used to use an expensive brand (whose name has vanished from my brain) but got them cheap online but in more recent times I've switched to eco poly jackets. Both brands seem similar in quality and in price, although I know there are many more cheaper versions out there.

A lot of my suppliers send in rubble sacks - the heavier duty poly bags of the kind you might pop garden rubbish/builders rubble in

I want to use boxes for when I send childrens wear via DHL as I think my parcels get handled quite heavily. I have had a few major incidents recently.
Out of 20 orders about 8 get sent via DHL, so I'll still need polymailers to keep the weight down for Royal mail costs. However, with DHL I can send up 32kg for the same price as 2kg.
I want to ensure that my customers get the items beautifully wrapped and in the same condition as when I send the goods.
Anything that costs over £3.50 to send via Royal mail or valued over £50 gets sent DHL.
The problem is getting the boxes at a good price! As I don't like having to pass costs like that on and do try to keep my postage as low as possible.

I would package in your normal polymailer for DHL and if they offer their own bag for shipments pop your own inside so it's double bagged.
