Tips please

Any suggestions about getting my website off the ground would be really appreciated. What worked for you, just want to get it seen in as many different places as I can.

Try and link exchange with similar sites, get it in as many directories as possible, maybe consider running special offers or competitions on your site. Thats all I can think of for now sure others will have some more ideas.

Promotion, promotion, promotion! Press releases worked well but I had to send out hundreds. Competitions, special offers hth

You want to get your name down with DMOZ as soon as possible. Will see if I can find some urls for you for others.

Directories are great for linking so that the search engines will index your site.

I went through this list carefully and choose directories that fitted with my type of work.

Contacting similar websites for reciprocal linking is always good - but beware for surprising replies that might seem negative!!!

Affiliation works well (although I haven't gone too far down that route yet!)
