We swapped bedrooms with the kids and had 2 black bags of toys to throw. How bad a mum am I, I put the kids crimbo toys in the loft on the 28th Dec as dd was having sleep over so wanted them out the way. They are still up there and not one of them has asked for there toys, yet the house is still full of toys.

I blitzed ds's bedroom n toyroom n im convinced toys multiply over night!!!!!
I think the toys do multiply because it doesn't seem to matter how many you get rid of there's stilltoo many. The most annoying are the macdonalds ones and mine don't go very often but we seem to have loads.

Definitely best idea to do it when they are not around otherwise the keep pile gets bigger and the go pile doesn't exist. Emily doesn't really bother very often with the McDonalds toys so we just put them in a bag and take to school for the school fair - make very good prizes for 10p prize every time games.
I "pruned" her toys before xmas to make way for the new lot and did manage to send quite a few to the charity shop. I boxed up loads of cuddly toys and was really pleased with myself - then christmas came and her birthday and we are back to square bloody one!:ac39: Now need to rehouse outgrown bike, swing, scooter, and dolly pram and pushchair. I keep meaning to get my act together and register on e-bay but it seems complicated to me.

My local charity shop loves donations of McDonalds toys - they say they are really good sellers as children come in with a few pence and mums don't mind them spending 50p or less (and of course the parents donate them back again when they are bored of them!!). So don't chuck them - donate them!
I think there is a toy fairy who brings them in secretly when we are all alseep....they specialise in Macdonalds toys.......
