If you are thinking that working from home selling items you have made will be a quick business to bring in money - I would seriously think again. I have been going for over 2 years and still haven't broken even yet. My business didn't pick up until February this year - probably through bad judgement on my part and lack of understanding of my business. Although I am now making money, I keep purchasing stock, so in reality haven't made any profit as of yet.
Good luck with it though as it is rewarding.

This probably sounds like a totally stupid reply, but a friend of mine has recently set up a pet feeding business, and it seems to be going really well. She basically comes to people's houses when they are on holiday, feeds their pets, brings in the post, opens and closes curtains, waters the garden (ha, ha, not much this weather) and that is about it. She charges different amounts depending on the mileage, but I think the average is about £12 per visit, or £24 per day if the animals needing feeding more than once. She leaves a pint of milk in the fridge on the last day.
I know you can buy a franchise, but it seems to me like the sort of business that you can set up without needing to buy a franchise. Obviously you need to think about whether you could still manage in the school holidays, and I suppose you will need to make sure that dh or someone is around in the evenings so you can do the later shift. It might be the sort of business that you could share with a friend.
Sorry, I am sure this sounds totally daft, but couldn't resist telling you anyway!!

I agree with Mary Poppins - unfortunately running a business selling things is not as simple as deciding you want to and making money.

how about running virgin vie or something from ur home or at freinds houses. my cousin does this and is very happy with her income. she even use josh to try out her new make up on. being a 4 year old boy he is not amused but it does get him involved, if you have time you can also help out charitys by holding parties for them.
but you only do what u want and the hours that suit you.also will help you meet people

What about an ironing service? You'd have very little set up costs.
My site was open 16mths before I broke even, it was a few months later that I was abe to withdraw a small wage.

I think if you are wanting money quickly then a normal job is the only thing to bring it in quickly, anything else you tend to spend any profit on more stock or advertising so it can take ages to actually show any money for yourself.

i'm a larger ladey (shall we say) what sort of health probs do you have?
plenty of ideas for part time work, if its strenuos work you cant do, the secretarial wrok could be good, (lots of typing and stuff)
but from what ive read on here (im not a WAHM) you need to put plenty of time into a business to get some sort of reward back :)
