Grrr Im so annoyed at myself. Last week I was taking a payment over the phone, and I remember it specifically because my daughter kept grabbing the phone and I was getting very distracted. Well as a result I took down the wrong house number for her delivery address- she has just rang to say her order hasnt arrived, and thats when we discovered the problem!
She is going to go to the house to see if they have it, or have returned it to me, but in the event that they deny all knowledge what can I do?! Im guessing not a lot, and I will just have to take it as a loss?! shrugshoulders111

Oh Laura how annoying, but so so easily done, I have made such silly mistakes over the summer holidays when my two were home!!!, finding out about most of them now!!!!!, just typing errors on booking letters etc but still unprofessional looking!!......I hope it gets sorted out and they have the parcel at the other address.

Hope that it turns up for you and that all is OK. School holidays have something to be answered to don't they.

Well not heard anything back from her yet, just hope she has honest neighbours yes! It wasnt a hugely expensive order, about £40 worth, but frustrating nonetheless!

Fingers crossed the neighbours have it.
What is it with children and the phone. Mine can me quietly playing completely absorbed in something, then the phone goes and it's like there is a riot going on right inside my house!

if the item has been signed for then they deny all knowledge then you can call the police the item has arived at the house and the police can arrest them for theft by finding we had a problem like this on ebay and they did have the item in there house. we got it back though

hopefully they'll give her it or will have returned to PO. I rang a theatre once, we were going to see War of the Worlds and the tickets hadn't arrived. I kept checking online and they'd been sent ... when I eventually spoken to someone they had them waiting for me. I'd put my old house number with the current street (not changed it on ticketmaster) and the person at that address had just sent them back and they were waiting to hear from us. I was over the moon cos it had sold out by then. Fingers crossed!

I had the same thing happen to me when I ordered some stuff for my parrots. Some how the company mixed up my new house number with my old street address.
The parcel had been signed for, bizarrely with my name. The company suggest I went to the address they sent the order to. The property was empty! The only thing we could think of was the courier had turned up at the empty house, signed for the package in my name then binned it.
The company did resend the order, but as you can imagine it was annoying for both of us.
How annoying, lets hope the neighbour is a n honest one (althoughtyou would have thought they would realise its not theirsand sent it back by now)

A lesson learned my end too!

That is good news. I've made a few mistakes recently too, as I've been rushing more when sending emails etc. I don't think I've put the wrong address on anything yet though *frantically touching wood*
