From what I can tell by a google search NO he cant.

Tho it does mention he can if his son and the sons mother are dead-so er best read the whole page cos it seems to say 2 diffrent things.

I thought it was ok but on there it even says step people cant marry etc unless they have never lived in the same house!!!I learnt a thing or two cos id have said yes too toni's Q!!:smiley-fa

I posted this on bgh as well and most say yes its ok on there as well. I guess it goes to show you dont need a blood tie. And I am very pleased the answer is no :woot:

Yes my horrible father-in-law has just proposed to my horrible ex sister-in-law. He has only done it to hurt my BIL and DH and my BILs dd is very upset. She has been through so much and Social Services do nothing!

Holy cow-nice people I dont think!!!!!Might be worth googling it cos from reading that if the others are still alive then they cant do it at all.

oh hunni, i don't really know what to say.

i was the same as the other i thought it would be ok, as there is no blood tie but i guess not, i know it sounds stupid but have you tried you local reg office, i presume they at least shou;d know

Thanks BM would be great. I think they can marry in special circumstances from what I have been reading, but not sure quite what "special circumstances" would cover.

She is in court today so wont see her up school cos she wont get home til8pm but il see her tomorow morning and ask her n see what she says-if she dont know then il ask my other mates hubby cos he a partenr in another solictiors.
