I've just read this on Silkysteps as Ruth had posted it.

Magnetic toys should have new labelling on them if they are for under 14s. If the stock you have isn't labelled the the retailer needs to do it themselves.

Oh for goodness sake, what are they going to think of next, there'll be more warnings than toy soon. How on earth did we all survive as kids, if todays warnings are anything to go by we should all have keeled over before we were 5 and those of us that didn't would have been fatelly wounded from falling out of a tree or falling off our bikes without a helmet by the time we were 10.

Thanks Chell.
I know what you mean Kate. It is getting ridiculous nowadays isn't it. I can see for under 5 year olds but 14 for goodness sake. My 14 year old is in the Air Cadets as he is allowed to go to a shooting range with them and learn how to fire a real gun - but we must warn him of the dangers of things with magnets!!!!!!!!
About time we stopped soft soaping and being politically correct with everything.

Thanks Chell, this is useful for me as I plan to add lots of games and gifts as stock towards the end of the year. You do however have to wonder where all of this nannying is going to lead us.!!! ... Do all of these people who think up these things believe anyone actually has any common sense???
Thanks again

Thanks for posting the link Chell as even though that article doesn't apply to me, I found an article that does. I now have to figure out how to prominently display signs about both of my companies on the house. Why I'll never know since no customer comes here but blah. :-(

It wont apply to you if you havent already bought the stock as the new supplys should already contain the warning :) its just if you had stock in before it became a legality to display the warning. Your supplier should have been in touch (mine have) and supplied you with the labels for existing stock, if they havent just contact them...
