Does anyone know anything about this? I have been approached by someone who has asked if our Scout Group wants to become involved. Basically, if you can get people to switch their utilities to this company, the Group gets a percentage of the bill spend.

I've never heard anything about it, and would appreciate any info.

Ive not heard of them but, to be honest, I would think its a bit dodgy, getting scouts to try and get people to swap their providers? That cant be right.

well, I'm not convinced, but just wondered if anyone had any info on them.

But thanks anyway.

This is a genuine fundraising initiative which many charities use.

Personally I'd leave it well alone. Joe is a scout and I wouldn't want him trying to persuade people to change their utility providers.

I wouldn't be happy about it either, something vaguley imoral about scouts being salespeople

Well, I took all the info to our Exec Committee and they decided to give it a miss for now.

But thanks for all the info everyone.

It doesn't work like that. The kids don't have anything to do with it. What happens is that the group let their supporters know about Utility Warehouse and give them a freephone number to call if they are interested. There is nothing underhand about it - it's no different really than selling members Christmas Draw tickets. They have the option to take part or not.
