Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are expecting a baby, Pitt's publicist has announced.
Pitt's spokeswoman confirmed the news after US magazine People ran a story claiming Jolie was pregnant.
The news comes a month after Pitt signed papers to make him the adoptive father of Jolie's two children.
The actors have been linked since Pitt split from ex-wife Jennifer Aniston, but both have refused to speak publicly about their relationship.
Jolie, 30, and Pitt, 42, met on the set of their film Mr and Mrs Smith.
Pitt denied a relationship with Jolie was behind the break-up of his four-year marriage to Friends star Aniston.
Pitt's publicist Cindy Guagenti confirmed the pregnancy after People magazine ran the story, quoting a charity aid worker in the Dominican Republic where Jolie is filming The Good Shepherd.
"Yes, I'm pregnant," Jolie was quoted as telling the charity worker.
Jolie's father, actor John Voigt, said: "Angie is my daughter and I am always wishing the best for her."
Pitt and Aniston divorced in October. Jolie was previously married to actor Billy Bob Thornton and Trainspotting star Jonny Lee Miller.
Jolie's adoptive children are Maddox, 4, and Zahara, who is about 11 months old.
