Wow is all I can say. My display looked fab (for once) the room I was in was absolutely gorgeous, I did a demo of bead making as I took my torch with me and everyone was amazed, and although I was hoping to make an enormous £200 I almost doubled that. I am so thrilled and pleased. The comments about the stuff were fab and real confidence building stuff, a lady was very eager to book a party herself with a demo which is brilliant because it means more sales. There were about 10 people there 8 of which were from school and I'm really pleased about that because I go down to school in my scruffy jeans and messy tops straight out of the shed and I'm sure they look at me and think I'm a layabout, and when they saw the stuff they couldnt' believe that I made it all and were so full of wows. I have lots of orders to keep me busy for the next week as 3 of them wanted this (http://www.perfectlygorgeous.com/product_info.php?cPath=9&products_id=516) and becasue I wore my finger print jewellery that the kids did for me, I got lots of orders for that too.:party05:

Well done - glad to hear you sounding more positive :D long may this continue - maybe demos / parties are the way you need to go for the moment and then when these customers tell their friends and their friends tell their friends about your fab stuff they'll look on your website and then sales from there will really take off.

That is fabulous news Kate, well done.
What I can't understand though is that you can do a jewellery party in front of all those people yet you won't to down to that shop to speak with the owner about your items. Go along girl, there should be nothing stopping you now.

Thanks everyone, I'm a bit cross with myself over the finger print stuff though because I almost gave them away but then I suppose that each person brought an item to put them on too which all added up and I did tell everyone that I could only do that price tonight and that if any of their friends asked they were double what I charged them. lol I'll never be a business woman.

Glad to hear things are going well for you - I think the party thing is a good idea, there's a lady who does them round here and half the village is wearing her stuff now, the school playground in the morning is a brilliant advert for her!
Well done, that's bound to have boosted your confidence. Looks like parties is the way to go for you.

That's brilliant and well deserved, your stuf is beautiful. I seem to wear my 'blackberry' necklace constantly and it always draws attention, it is just so beautiful. I always wear the bead ring to work and the little girls just love it and always want to touch - have you ever thought about doing jewellery for small girls?

A quick confidence boosting tip re your demos. Have you thought about defining a 'demo outfit'? ie choose something from your wardrobe which makes you feel good and always wear that for when you are doing a party? This works for me,(I also wear different perfume when I'm working ...........) I find getting dressed in my 'confident' clothes really helps and helps to reduce that dreaded 'I feel sick' before I start stage.

Well I don't really do it as a rule, I mean I can do it and have done it for myself and I wear my own necklace with some beads and the kids finger prints that they did all by themselves for me, all the time. But there is no way I would do it for the cost I did last night again. Mine are a bit more sort of organic looking than the ones you usually get because the kids did them theirselves but I can do you a photo if you want to see it.

Wow, that is great.
I think doing a demonstration is a fantastic idea. I think that is a surefire way to get people to buy more. It is always great to see how people actually make things.

Congrats on the success of the party, I think the 'demo' is a great idea too, it really helps people to see how stuff is made and then they get all excited by it and keen to buy:happy72:

Only for me really, but at the party people saw mine and lots of them wanted them to attatch to jewellery they were buying, I sold 3 charm bracelets too to put them on. I don't have them on my site because I don't think that people would pay the price for them. I just love them because I gave the kids the stuff and they did it themselves and I just tidied them up a bit and made the holes and names. They're a bit of an organicy shape  but I love them.
