Does anyone have a financial advisor? If so, how much does it usually cost? I need to sort out my pension (or lack there of) and decide about the policy I currently hold that is dormant etc. I phoned about this and the advice was to get a financial advisor. Any suggestions? Thanks!

depending on what you are doing, a financial advisor may charge you a fee, or may take a comission paid by the insurance/pension company.

Any pension provider that you contact will say that they can't give you advice and that you should contact an IFA - if they give advice and are not qualified they are in deep trouble!

A good IFA will want to know your whole family financial circumstances and your intentions, otherwise they can't advise you properly.

I don't have one but a friend has one free through Business Link I think, or it might be her bank. I'll ask if you like..

I hope all is well with you! :party05:

Thanks for your replies. Work is so busy at the moment I haven't gotten any further with finding stuff out. I only need advice about my pension - nothing else. Will try some of your suggestions. Thanks all!
