The easiest way is to put them in a bucket lined with a mesh bag. When it is full you just lift the whole mesh bag out and bung it in your washing machine. No need to soak them first. Use LESS washing detergent than you normally would, as the nappies are so absorbent it is difficult for machines to wash all of the detergent out. You can use nappy sanitizer or tea tree oil in your machine as antibacterials but they are optional. Don't use fabric softener as it affects the absorbency of the nappies. Most nappies can be line dried or tumble dried.

Do you always wash just nappies or do you wash other things with them?

I just wash the nappies on their own, but then I do have 2 children in nappies so fill the machine with nappies quite easily. I know many people put other things in with the nappies and haven't had any problems.

I do all of my nappies in with my white wash and I have no problems with getting everything nice and clean
