Sales Tax added at checkout

Dh brought a scalextric car off ebay and it's me that has the ebay account, so when I paid for it I was a bit annoyed to find that the seller had added on a sales tax cost to his checkout, it was a weird thing as it went to his own site/checkout system. There was no mention of this on the auction. Is this right? Should I report him to ebay, probably get ignored as he has over 96000 feeback.

no its not right if its not mentioned in the auction.
In fact im pretty sure they actually changed the rules so that VAT has to be included.

Have you paid already?
If not then report them and don't pay. They can't neg you now but you can neg them.

You might end up with an unpaid strike but that won't affect you unless you pull out of other auctions.
