:kisshands: thank you

It may not be as bad as I think, on the other hand it may make me walk away, or force me to do something I don't want to but would be in the best interest of tthe others and the future.

mental note to self : - do not join any more committees, be happy doing nothing!!!

well, it's official now, pobably not as bad as it could be, I know, but the timing is really off, I could do with out the stress!!

Our head teacher is handing in her notice!! There's only a couple of months left of school and I've got to find a new lead worker, we have one who is qualified but has said in the past she won't do anything higher than deputy, so there's a chance we could have to close really early for the summer!! All the oter staff have only been there since feburary and there's a chance if she goes, they all go, it's so not fair on the children and I could do with out the stress.

I have got a back up plan but it goes against my own judgement and thats joining the Academy, they can help with staff, finance and admin, I just don't lke the idea of it, but if it's between that and closing, it would be the better choice.

AAARRRRGGGHHH, it seemed so simple, join a committee and bring my experiances and conections, but it's been one issue on top of another, if I wasn't me I think I would have walked away, DD starts school and DS could have gone to another pre-school, but it's not me to just walk away, it would be a great achievement to start september with a good team, and a clean slate, it's gonna be hard work getting there is just over 16 weeks.

Oh Lisa, that's a horrid situation

Will the qualified lady consider being acting head until you can find a permanent replacement? (As long as you assure her it's definitely temporary) (That's assuming you can do something like that?)

Generally I really do hope it sorts out quickly and easily for you :kisshands:

That's what I'm hoping!! just up until the holidays.

To make things worse, she's been called for jury service so we may have to close while she does that. I feel really bad about that coz my Dad was called up for the same case, but got out of it on medical grounds and she was called the week after, looks like she's his replacement!!

Oh heck! Just wanted to send big hugs and give you some hope x

The supervisor left our preschool and we couldn't find anyone suitable to replace her (it didn't help that she was fab and we really didn't want to lose her!). One interviewee had no qualifications and had only worked part time at another preschool for a few months, so she was a definite NO. Another was, on paper, perfect. She had all the right qualifications and after interviewing, she was asked to come and spend a few days with the children. After the first day, we knew she wasn't the one after all, she was awful with the children. Two more days made us certain, as she wasn't prepared to work the hours needed and started complaining about other staff members and discussing who would have to go when she took over!

Like you we had one member of staff who was qualified, experienced and brilliant with the children but she didn't feel up to the responsibility and dealing with all the paperwork so she wouldn't take it on. To avoid closing we finally made a temporary arrangement that she would share the role of supervisor with a younger member of staff who was keen but inexperienced until a replacement could be found.

18 months later, they're still job sharing and it has worked fantastically, so well in fact that it has become a permanent arrangement and we have employed a new junior member of staff instead. Everyone is happy, especially the children.

Don't panic just yet, it can work out, honestly. (It might just be a close run thing!) Good Luck x:happy72:
