My sister rung them to find out bout haveing the line reconnected so she has the house phone n they said cos noone has had a phone on that line for 18mths she would have to pay £125 to have it reconnected!!!!! The line is still there ffs n how can she pay that when she cant even buy a bleeding bed!!!!!

She doesn't have to pay that. I was told that, but then kept going round the houses till I found out I could be reconnected for free, and now it's done. I'll try to remember more details, but I have brain fry today sorry.

Ours was the same, line there when we moved in but the bloke we bought the house off had had NTL so had another line. BT said pay up but when they arrived they didn't charge us anything because they found the line was still live.

We had the same - the line was there the day before but they claimed it wasn't - we went to cable in the end - £125 pays a lot of tv time!

Hadn't thought of cable-good point. She is ringing me tomorrow so il mention it too her. It is a ridiculous price to ask people to pay!!!
