Former EastEnder Elaine Lordan's baby son has died just days after his first birthday, her agent has said.

James Manuel had suffered from a diaphragmatic hernia, a serious medical condition which affects one in every 3,000 births.

Lordan and her husband Peter Manuel - who married last Thursday - were said to be distraught at James's "totally unexpected" death on Sunday.

Her agent Kate Whaley asked that they be left to grieve in private.

Its very sad, there was talk that her mother committed suicide although Im not sure if that was the case or whether it was an accident.

She was the one who was married to Gary in Eastenders and was in Im a celeb.

It has been an awful year for her, I read in the paper that her dad is also seriously ill.

I just hope they get the time and privacy that they need.

Thoughts and prayers are with her and her family... to think last week they had so much happiness with getting married and their baby's first birthday... just for all hopes to be dashed by his death

RIP little man xx
