I notice a lot of you have blogs. Is there any advantage for your business in doing this? And does it boost search engine optimisation?
TIA

You can add lots of links to your website which is supposed to help SEO. If you use Blogger then they seem to rank well in the search engines, it is owned by Google.
If it is actually on your site (mine isn't) then it can add lots of content/keywords again to help with SEO.
That is my basic understanding :cheesy:

I use https://www.blogger.com/start but I have no idea how to link it your site. It is explained on there but I tried and couldn't get it to work, it is probably very simple though.

yes and yes
Having a blog can greatly improve your seo - it's all about inbound links.
In terms of SEO, inbound links are much more effective than links where you have swopped with another website. An inbound link being a link from elsewhere on the internet to your website.
So if you have a blog (hosted somewhere other than your existing website) you can link from your blog back to your site and gain yourself valuable inbound links.
Hope that makes sense
here's an example from my own blog
http://seasideandhome.blogspot.com/2008/03/beach-hut-kitchen.html
You will that within the text I have put links back to particular pages on my shop site www.seasideandhome.co.uk. The backlinks are in blue.
I then added a button to my shop site home page - which takes readers direct to my blog.
Then i added the shop web addy (as a link) to my blog to enable people to go back to the shop from the blog.
