and since I'm almost legendary for moaning, i thought I ought to start!

I've been diagnosed with Chronic Urticaria of the idiopathic variety i.e. they haven't a bleeding clue why i've got it.

But they've pointed in no uncertain terms at stress. i've had it since January and have had hives every day. today has been the least I've had it since February. I feel so much better about life. its amazing just how much its got me down.

I hate it just so much. they've given me steroids for it now and i just don't want to take them. i negotiated with the doctor to hold off until I had a serious flare up again. Its been swelling my face which the doctor reckons could be serious but reading the internet i think its only serious if it could block my airway.

the business is in a strange phase where we're having no trouble selling but the bleeding buying is a nightmare. I can't find staff, a suitable unit etc. etc.

sorry for whinging:cheesy:

*hugs* I used to suffer from it years ago (certain foods triggered it) so I know what you are feeling

My ex used to get it in times of stress, anxiety (which I guess is part of stress) and also if got overheated.

For him, the hardest thing about it was that it was visible to other people (though you had to look pretty closely - it was like tiny red freckles all over his skin) which made him even mores stressed.

He 'grew out of it' though at around 22. I think it's like hayfever, asthma, eczema etc, can come on all of a sudden, or disappear.

this is probably a good idea of what it looks like at its worst. bottom of feet, face and hands are its worst.

today has been such a good day that i'm just praying it continues and it leaves me as mysteriously as it arrived.

thanks for replying. very very kind of you.

my goodness, moan away...it sounds rotten! :kisshands:
I hope it's staying away- I suppose if it clears up a bit, you'll be less stressed about it, so it will keep getting better (hopefully!)

Hope things get better Sarah, it's really not easy to avoid stress. Dh gets rashes on his face when he's having a hard time at work, but nothing like you're describing.

Gosh, that doesn't sound nice at all!

As Chiggs says, if you are feeling better today then hopefully you've broken the cycle of stress, getting worse etc. Hope so :kisshands:

Sorry you're suffering - I have a stress related condition as well so I can sympathise. Hope you're feeling a bit better soon.

That sounds very uncomfortable. Hopefully as you feel less stressed now it is on its way off.

Sorry I don't have any idea what that is, but I hope the steroids work for you.

Hope it clears up soon, the sunnier weather may help. When I was a targets driven person I used to get 'stress shoulder' when driving - right shoulder would almost freeze up. Not had it since end of May 1999. I don't think that's a coincidence!
