I think we might pop over as it isn't too far. I can sniff it out incase I decide to exhibit next year.

I might be checking it out on Saturday because every year they chase me to exhibit. I shall have to blindfold DS though in case he realises we are that close to his best friends!

To be honest now their site has information on it about all the exhibitors it looks more impressive. When they contacted me the site was bare and it didn't inspire me to book a stand.

Did you go? What did you think?
I overheard a customer and stall holder discussing it. The lady said that it was bigger last year but not as organised. Looking at their website I don't think they had proper stands last year. This year they had those exhibition type stands with partitions behind/between them.
I didn't feel as though it was a baby show, many of the stands were more aimed at toddlers or trying to get you to have a Tish Tash toys, Captain Whats-its-name, etc parties.
I went aimed with cash but as a pregnant Mum there wasn't anything I wanted to buy.
One stall had the Kari-me slings which were very badly wrapped on a dummy. That made me think that they were only selling them and wouldn't be able to show me how to use it IYSWIM.
Kiddicare were there but didn't have anything on display, I was expecting to see a few prams, etc.
My children enjoyed the craft tables. DD got her face painted then got quite distressed that it was dirty. :hysterica She came straight home for a bath.
We got there about 1.30ish and it was very busy. By the time we left it was quite empty. I'm nmot in the Peterborough area so many of the stalls were irrelevant for me - baby signing classes, distance sellers wanting me to hold parties, Little Kickers, a Kindergarten, etc.
The baby signing stall was very busy but that may have been because they had so many people manning it to get people chatting. They weren't selling products.
There was many stalls I felt selling the same such as soft toys such as Manhatten toys, Fiesta, etc.

Were there tens of nappy stalls? Most shows I've done since about 2003-4 have been flooded with nappy peeps so I kind of stopped doing specific baby shows, figuring that people look and don't buy and go home and google

No, Little Kiwi (http://fillthatnappy.com/clothnappyshop/index.php) was there, I spoke to them.
The stand that I mentioned before that had a sling on display sold nappies. Their stall was huge, they had a birthing pool and allsorts. They mentioned real nappy week on their posters. I will get the booklet to find out who they were. Their stall was big and only had one person manning it, they didn't sell their products to me as I would have wanted more info but they were available. I didn't see anyone browsing and it must have cost them a fortune to be there.
Edit: It was Biz E Kids, they had cotton tail nappies on display. They were in nice brown bags like the take aways use, sold as trial packs. They looked eco friendly the way they were presented. They had some nice nappy buckets, nicer than the standard round ones.

I agree with this - real nappies aren't going to be an impulse buy!
At the Haydock show I went to Lizzie's Real Nappies were there and a local laundering service promoting the voucher scheme and they also had some real nappies on the stall :)

For a newbie it is lovely to be able to see them in real life to see what they are actually like.

Miranda, BabyKind must have the same idea as you. I've just noticed that they have a full page advert in the programme and it says they sponsored something there.

Exactly - I stroked some Tots Bots in a shop and then bought online :) It is really great when you can see them altogether :happy72:
