Main supplier sent a new price list earlier this month - prices change 1 May.
Have spent all last night and up at 5 finally finished re-jigging catalogue, removing old items, adding new ones, getting it to fit (that's the hard part) and adding in new prices - date on front is 1 May so also has our new address with a note to contact us if before 16 May or see website for current address

Now just printing a couple of dozen for the first of Real Nappy Week events (today) and a further 10 dozen or so I'm posting off to various places today before I run out of paper, could have sworn I had another 5 reams somewhere I think I have a paper eating monster in my house!

All nappies will go up this year for 2 reasons 1) the price of cotton/bamboo/hemp etc has gone up a lot and 2) the Eu exchange rate isn't what it was and the dollar isn't the best it's been but also China is getting more expensive.

Oh no, I should pull my finger out and buy mine quick then!

I'm surprised that you attribute it to the us dollar exchange rate. do you mean against the pound? its only a couple of point off the best its ever been. its just under the £1 = $2 mark but only just.

i would agree that China is getting more expensive, but they must suffer the poor dollar quite badly. they don't want yen, just hard currency but must pay their workers in Chinese currency so i can understand why they've got problems.

we need to look at our prices next year - the rise in the cost of food and oil are significant.

I'm struggling with the EU exchange rate at the moment, every time I order in stock my margins are getting less. I've already had to nudge some prices up and will have to do so again this month, but what is frustrating is that competitors aren't doing likewise, even though I know they can't be making money.

no, sorry wasn't very clear I meant dollar exchange vs Chinese (apparently), many of my USA manufacturers buy the raw materials in China. Of course they could be lying!

They aren't lying. Most bamboo and cotton is from China or other parts of Asia that are heavily influenced by the Chinese exchange rates.

My chinese suppliers have been desperately trying to put the prices up on me after i agreed their quotations so they didn't get away with it. they have been telling me how badly the cost of raw materials have gone up.

Miranda, it must be satisfying now that it is all done.

Slightly, my next issue is the VAT return...
Thankfully my display boards for Real Nappy Week are pretty much as last year, all I've got to do is check they're not too manky looking from putting the boards away/taking them out 20-30 times since they were made.
