shrugshoulders111hi all just wondered if you could tell me what you think of my idea please....
its called fairy in a box which is a box designed for 3-9 year old girls mainly with costume- wings -jewellery-dolly-stickers-and other little bits all in one box.
not sure what to charge but as i have a daughter now nearly 14 she loved dressing up and would love to do this and think girls really like the girlie things sure it would make a lovely gift!!!
do you think it would sell?smiledance

sounds good

I suppose the retail price would depend on the items you put in the box

good luck

Well it wouldn't appeal to my tomboy but then I'm sure a lot of her friends would like that kind of thing, but as Tanya says depends on the price, if you can get it down to party present price then it could be a winner - I hate physoically shopping for party presents, and what about something else in a box for tomboys/boys?

DD (3) is into princesses, she'd like 'clip clop' shoes, feather boa, Tiara/headband, beads, etc.

I like the idea - and the name 'fairy in a box' sounds great :happy72:
ditto Tanya - you can't really work out costs until you have a better idea of the contents.
Plus for something like this to be popular/sell well I think you will need really nice packaging. Something a bit different.

In fact I would be tempted to research packaging before the contents - as this is what's going to sell the product.

Not sure how you would get the packaging printed? But I'm sure someone on here may have some suggestions.

Did you see the 'you doo doll' (http://www.youdoodoll.co.uk/blog/) on Dragons Den?
I personally don't think much to the idea of the doll, but the packaging really sells this product.

I think it's a great idea and something you could expand to appeal to most kids.

Girlie girls could have fairy in a box, princess in a boxc

Then for boys you could have pirate in a box, footballer in a box, dinosaur hunter etc etc

Then you could have unisex boxes - artist in a box, crafter in a box, adventurer in a box, gardener in a box........

See - with a little research and imagination you could have a whole range that could run and run.

I remember seeing fairy costumes and pirate costumes in printed boxes in Asda for £10 - £15 (can't remember the exact price).

You could have different prices - say the box with the whole shebang would be the deluxe one, and then just a dressing up costume or accessories in a cheaper version.

I like the idea and think it would sell but (not wanting to rain on your parade) the costume itself wouldnt be a unique idea, but putting it in a special box would be. Dressing up clothes are sold all over the place now and a "fairy" costume is one you expect to find in any supermarket or toy shop nowadays. For example Woolworths sell a fairy dresing up set for £8 http://www.woolworths.co.uk/web/jsp/product/index.jsp?pid=50973679
It dosnt come in a box however - so thyour box could be the unique selling point. My dd has so many dressing up things and they are just all thrown together in a big tub, the little accessories that come with each outift are all jumbled up, it would be nice to have them all boxed up as "sets", keeping all the bits together.

Good luck with it

I also like the idea of 'in a box' for giving as a party present. a) it's easier to wrap and b) it looks nicer like you've spent more than you have - I once got a cheap plastic lidded box and filled with cheap crafty bits for one of DD's friends, some of which was decanted into smaller containers from our stuff at home, and she loved it, even though the box was 50p and the glue was about £1.50 everything else we had already.
