I'm a little peeved. I came into work tonight and a folder had been left on my chair. In it was a birthday card to a member of the team I imagine with the expectation that I sign it. Not wishing to be a complete b***h but I didn't even get a birthday email from anyone in this team. I should point out that birthdays are advertised in the firm's weekly newsletter and at least one person would have seen my birthday in there. Also the person whose birthday it is definitely knew it was my birthday as she was here when the firm brought up my mini birthday cake (which she sent away as I was not in that day). Should I be a cow and not sign it or go against my true feelings and bow down to these small minded nitwits?

In all honesty I don't really care whether or not these people like me so I'm not worried about what they think by me not signing it.

This woman though, she told me that they brought up my cake but she said I wasn't here so they took it away and then 5 minutes later I mentioned my birthday and she said "oh was it your birthday then?"shrugshoulders111 What's that all about???

Take a deep breath and rise above them - you are a lovely lady that doesn't have to seek to their level but to save aggro - would sign the card and forget about other things. Hope I haven't offended.

Aww thanks you are really kind, but am I a lovely lady? Would a lovely lady have these thoughts of nastiness in her head? I have been questioning this a lot lately.

You are lovely - just normal gal - worrying too much - try not to worry hun. Best just to do your job and get on with things. Not worth the hassle.

It'll be ok if anyone says anything they know how busy it gets working for my boss and they'll understand that I forgot. TBH they probably won't notice that I didn't sign it.

it depends who it was for, I would not sign a card for a couple of people I used to work with as there was some nastieness with a girl who tried to get revenge on me when we were messing about once, she got some men in the company to gang up on me and it was very horrible, she was so nasty to me even after I apologised to her for what I did etc. Anyway I would not sign a card to someone if I knew they didn't like me or vice versa.
